SimplePhoto Announces Pre-Pay Boarding Pass Ordering for Photographers
TAMPA, Florida - January 6, 2008 - Imaging USA - SimplePhoto announces the release of a newly developed pre-pay ordering system for photographers. "With scannable, barcoded order receipts, SimplePhoto will change the way teams, leagues and schools are photographed," says SimplePhoto CEO Eric J. Ellis.
The system allows parents of a student, little league participant, dance student etc. to pre-pay for their order online. Photographers may require data fields (such as first name, last name, jersey number, etc.) to be filled out by the customer at time of purchase. "This guarantees accurate data collection for the photographer." says Sharon King, Operations Manager at SimplePhoto. "Databases provided by the school or league are not always complete or accurate. Our system allows parents to fill in those gaps."
Once the order is placed, the customer receives an e-mail with a barcoded order receipt, known as the "SimplePhoto Boarding Pass." Customers are informed they should print out their boarding pass and present it to the photographer on the day of the shoot. "The SimplePhoto Boarding Pass streamlines photo shoots much as airlines boarding was made easier with the introduction of online boarding passes," explains Ellis.
The Fuji S5 Advantage
Barcode ready cameras, such as the Fuji S5, further streamline photographer workflow by scanning SimplePhoto orders directly into the photos as they are taken. "Barcode ready cameras are not required for our workflow", states King, "but it sure can be a time saver on shoot day."
SimplePhoto has eliminated the need to collect cash or checks onsite. The student or baseball player no longer has to carry an envelope with cash or check to the shoot location. Math errors, cash loss, and bounced checks are eliminated.
Ellis concludes, "SimplePhoto's boarding pass workflow is clearly an advancement for the photography industry. It is now truly, pardon the pun, simple to link orders to photos. We are happy to see our barcoded order technology being utilized by systems such as Fuji, PHOTOLYNX®, and others.
